Diversity is beautiful

The picture the bible gives us of heaven is of ‘a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language’. Our dream is that something of that diversity would be seen in Emmanuel church; that men and women, rich and poor, and young and old from many diverse cultures would be joined together by Jesus as a demonstration of the creativity and the wisdom of God.

Practically, this dream works itself out most of all in everyday community life . The bible calls us to ‘Accept one another, as Christ accepted you’ and the different communities of friends that make up Emmanuel church are massively enriched by their diversity.
