I preached on singleness on Sunday and touched on a number of different challenges and opportunities that many single people face.

There are several books around but the one I have heard the most positive feedback on is ‘The single issue’ by Al Hsu. 

If you are looking for some free internet reading I would recommend the chapter on sex and the single woman in sex and the supremacy of Christ.  There is a chapter on ‘sex and the single man as well but I didn’t think it was that good.

A number of people asked me about the book I quoted from about Amy Carmichael.  It’s called ‘From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya’ by Ruth Tucker and is a massive collection of short biographies of missionaries that span the ages.  It’s well written, easy to read, inspiring and challenging.  Each person gets about 5 or 6 pages so you get the basic story of what they did without having to wade through a whole book.  You can get a preview on google books but its worth buying the real thing.
