I moved down to London to be a successful photographer, have a cool car, and a beautiful wife. But I ended up with no job, a big overdraft and a flat mate from Grimsby. I did all I could to make my dreams come true, but they all stayed beyond my reach. I began to go to Church again. There I felt challenged by God and passionate Christians. I decided to lay down my ambitions and put God first in my life. From that moment, I began to hunger for more of God, so I began to read more of the bible. I discovered that there is nothing more fulfilling and exciting than knowing Jesus, and that he has a purpose for me and his people, the Church. Now I do have a beautiful wife and two adorable kids. I also run a photography business, but this is no longer number one in my life. My life is to know God, walk in His ways, and believe in His truth. Here I have found true freedom, significance, and purpose. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6.

I didn’t grow up in a religious family but was open to spiritual things and as a teenager started asking all the big ‘life’ questions. I always wanted to please and had high standards for my life, but I also lived with shame and guilt for my mistakes. I was a failed perfectionist! When I realised God loved me and wanted to forgive me it was amazing - I discovered grace! Now I’m free from striving for acceptance and everytime I mess up God gives me a fresh start. My life has been totally transformed.
