Baptisms

Posted on - Monday, November 24th, 2008

Christian baptism represents the beginning of a new life in God so its very exciting for us to be baptising some people next Saturday (29th Nov).  We are meeting from 6-7pm at New Life Church on Woolwich Rd, next to the Woolwich fly-over.  Here is a map to help you locate the building.

This Wednesday (26th Nov)

This Wednesday we meet all together as a church in the function room above the Spanish Galleon pub in the centre of Greenwich.  If you need some help finding the way you can look at this map.

Its at 745.  Feel free to buy a drink downstairs and bring it up with you.

This Sunday…

This Sunday (19 Oct) we are very exciting to be hosting David Holden from New Community Church.  David has travelled all over the world preaching, teaching and caring for churches and leaders.  It’s very exciting for us to have him with us and even more exciting that we have booked him in to come regularly throughout 2009.  Definitely one not to miss.

This Wednesday…

Posted on - Friday, October 10th, 2008

Every third wednesday this term we will meet together as a church.  These will be fantastic opportunities to pray, hear from God and think about what we are doing and where we are heading together.  We have booked the main hall in the Greenwich West Community and Arts Centre on Greenwich Church St, next to the Greenwich DLR.  We start at 745.

Click here for a location map.  Public transport links are good, parking is in local bays off the main road when you can find them.

Going public

Posted on - Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

On 28th September we publicly launched our church to the unsuspecting public - for anyone that was there, it was great to have you with us.  If anyone is interested I just summarised some thoughts on our church planting experience on a blog I occasionally write on.

Launching a church is a bit like having a baby - by the time you’ve actually done it you feel ready to go and sleep for a week (or so my wife tells me).  However, the birth is not the end but the beginning so we will be meeting every Sunday from now on at 4pm.  We would love you to come and be our guest sometime.  You can find all the information about the meeting here.

Childrens groups

Posted on - Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

We love having children and families coming to Emmanuel church. Usually you will be greeted by one of our kids team and shown the area where their activities take place. The 0-11s stay in the meeting for about 15 mins and then go to their groups where they are looked after by trained and police checked volunteers from the church. All the children eat a light tea provided by the church at around 5.30 and are ready to collect at the end of the meeting.

At the moment we have 2 regular groups:

Emmanuel tots (0-3) - mostly free play with a short bible story or activity

Emmanuel kids (3+) - a mixture of play, songs, teaching and activities.

Feel free to be in touch if you would like to ask any questions about the childrens groups.

Parenting course

Posted on - Friday, July 25th, 2008

Starting in October we plan to run a parenting course based around the content of the book ‘Shepherding a child’s heart.’ The book is brilliant and focuses in on how the gospel shapes our thinking and our practice as parents. The evenings will be once a month over an extended period and will be suitable for anyone who wants to raise their kids according to biblical truth.
